Planning Appeals
An Bord Pleanála is the independent planning appeals board set up by the government to operate an independent appeal function in respect of planning permissions.
We have acted for a number of organisations, companies, resident associations and individuals throughout Ireland in respect of prosecuting and defending planning appeals before An Bord Pleanála. These have included major infrastructural projects.
Appeals of this nature require the necessary expertise in respect of the preparation and presentation of information in support of the submission.
We also have at our disposal a number of experts which (if required) may be of considerable assistance in the course of an appeal and are in a position to provide expert evidence where appropriate.
An appeal by a third party objector can only be brought to An Bord Pleanála where a submission or observation has been lodged at the local authority planning permission stage. Therefore if you are considering objecting to a development it is advisable to obtain legal advice at the earliest opportunity and in particular at local authority stage if a considerable development such as a waste disposal site is being objected to.
